🎵 Lizzo Talks “Protecting My Peace” After Weight Loss Scrutiny

The Grammy-winning artist discusses her mental health journey and upcoming album in a candid new interview. As Lizzo prepares to release her highly anticipated new project "Love in Real Life," she's sharing insight into her deliberate step back from the spotlight and how she's reclaiming her narrative in the face of controversy and public misconception.

In a revealing conversation on Jay Shetty's "On Purpose" podcast, Lizzo explained her decision to take a "gap year" from music following a challenging period of intense scrutiny. "I don't feel like I've expressed myself fully in the last two years, like how I want to," the "About Damn Time" singer confessed, noting that she's been "holding my tongue" due to concerns about public misinterpretation.

The forthcoming album represents Lizzo's first full-length release since facing a high-profile harassment lawsuit from three former dancers in 2023, allegations which the star vehemently denied as "false" and "sensationalized" in her public response.

The project already shows promising momentum with the release of two singles, "Still Bad" and the title track "Love in Real Life." These mark her first proper releases since 2022's "Special," which reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and delivered her second Hot 100 chart-topper with "About Damn Time."

During the interview, Lizzo reflected poignantly on the disconnect between her true self and public perception, saying, "Whoever Lizzo is to the world is not really even me. And that disconnect is depressing." Despite these challenges, she remains resolute about moving forward authentically: "I'm never gonna stop... I'm taking back my narrative by continuing to tell my story from me."

📀 Bon Iver’s “Towers” | ⭐ 4.1/5

"Towers" is a captivating track from Bon Iver's 2011 self-titled album that deserves more recognition. The song begins with intricate finger-picked guitar that creates a hypnotic foundation before gradually expanding with Vernon's ethereal falsetto and warm brass instrumentation.
